Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the world and making it possible for us to do things we could only dream of previously.
AI tools can bring inaccessible, complex formulas and automation scripts into the realm of everyday users.
This course — The AI Playbook for Google Sheets — is a concise guide that teaches you how to use artificial intelligence to work more effectively with Google Sheets.
It’s perfect for anyone who is new to this technology and wants to learn how to use AI in Google Sheets.
Whether you’re a skeptic or a believer, this course will show you how AI tools can improve your Google Sheets workflows.
AI is your superhero sidekick.
Use it to work faster and more accurately.
Do things you couldn't previously do.
I was skeptical of AI initially. There was a lot of hype and "tech bros" selling AI-this and AI-that.
But the hype didn't fade away.
And I started to see folks sharing incredible demos of using AI tools with Google Sheets.
So I knew I needed to take a proper look. That was back in January of 2023.
It didn't take long for me to see the benefits.
Whenever I was writing Apps Script, I found myself reaching for ChatGPT to give me a headstart. I described my problem and ChatGPT generated useful code for me, saving me hours of research.
It's really transformed how I work with Google Sheets.
And best of all, using AI tools is not rocket science.
You don't need to delve into the weeds of how different models work or understand parameter tuning. You can use these AI tools just like you use any other online tool.
My takeaway: Don't put AI up on a pedestal. Anyone can use it.
Through experience, I've learned how to write good prompts to increase the chance of getting a useful response. I've found which workflows benefit from AI as well as which workflows don't. And I’ve figured out how to apply these tools to Google Sheets, to make my everyday work faster and more accurate.
In this course, I share all of these learnings so you can benefit from my months of research and avoid making the same mistakes.
The media is awash with articles proclaiming AI will take over the world alongside articles denouncing AI as nothing more than a hype-driven bubble with no real-world benefits.
It feels overwhelming and confusing.
That's where this course comes in.
It's your handy guide to cut through the noise and bring AI down to earth.
I've deliberately stuck to mature tools within the AI space so that they're likely to be around for a while.
This is not a course about the cutting edge of AI research. It's focused on practical applications using publicly available, easy-to-use tools.
So if you're not sure where to begin or even what the benefits of AI are, this course is a great place to start.
There are many benefits to using AI in Google Sheets, including:
The great promise of AI is to level the playing field and give everyone access to expert-level skills.
And whilst we're not there yet, the industry has made enormous strides in the past year. It's a great time to discover what all the fuss is about and add some expert spreadsheet skills to your toolset.
We all have good intentions to learn new skills but finding the time can be a challenge.
Life is busy. I have two young children so I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find time for new projects.
Online courses with hundreds of videos feel overwhelming. And despite all that initial enthusiasm, we never get around to mastering that new skill.
So that's why I've deliberately kept this course concise and to the point. It only takes about 2.5 hours to watch the 16 videos, so you could complete this course over a couple of lunch breaks.
My goal is not to teach you everything there is to know about AI. (That would be impossible anyway!)
Instead, my goal is to give you a launchpad and a set of recipes that you can immediately apply.
I want you to watch this course and immediately benefit from these AI tools.
This course is perfect for you if:
AI technology is coming to an office near you soon, whether you like it or not.
So you have to make a choice.
If you ignore it and hope for the best, you will gradually become disadvantaged as others leverage AI to work more efficiently than you.
Luckily for us though, you don't have to. Integrating AI into your workflows is fun and easy.
A recent research study performed by Harvard University and the Boston Consulting Group [1] showed a clear upside for consultants using AI to perform knowledge tasks. Not only were they more productive, but they produced work of higher quality.
I don't think there's much doubt now that these AI tools are here to stay and knowledge workers will be expected to know how to use them.
